The Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd. No:1758, Perinthalmanna was established in 1916 as a ‘Aikya Nanaya Samgham’. In 1940, it was upgraded as Urban Bank. In 1966, it came under banking Regulation Act and obtained Reserve Bank License in 1994.

In 1991, apart from Perinthalmanna Taluk, the area of opertion was extended to Malappuram Municipality. Under specific conditions, Loans can be sanctioned all over Malappuram Dist.
